The Scottish-American industrialist, Andrew Carnegie, established 2,509 library buildings throughout the English-speaking world between 1886 and 1917, through his philanthropic trust.

The artist Mickey Smith documented the legacy of 23 Carnegie Libraries built across the South Pacific, including 18 in Aotearoa New Zealand, in her 2015 publication As You Will: Carnegie Libraries of the South Pacific.

She has made two limited-edition prints taken from the book, which are available from Te Tuhi, and are sold as a pair, together with a signed copy of the book. Printed on rag paper, these two editions can be hung side by side, or bottom to bottom as shown.

In addition to supporting the publication, 10% of limited edition sales will go toward preserving support Hokitika’s earthquake prone Carnegie building.
